Health and Social Care (Community Health and Standards) Act 2003

Made: 20-11-2003 | Laid: 20-11-2003 | Forced: 20-11-2003

Overview

The Act provides for the establishment of NHS foundation trusts, of the Health Care Inspectorate and for the Inspectorate for social care. It also provides for the recovery of NHS charges, makes changes to the way in which primary dental and medical services are delivered and provides for a replacement of the Welfare Food Scheme and other miscellaneous matters. The majority of the Act extends to England and Wales with a few exceptions.

The critical element of this Act in regards of operations of businesses with ISO management systems, is that Part 3 of the Act relates to injury costs recovery related to England, Wales and Scotland. This is important because if costs are incurred, these may be charged to your business either directly or through your insurance.
