Overview


These Regulations are made as a requirement of Directive 2003/59/EC on the initial qualification and periodic training of drivers of certain road vehicles for the carriage of goods or passengers. This Directive introduces a Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) across the EU. With some exceptions, all professional drivers of lorries and buses must pass an initial CPC test, valid for 5 years and after that undergo 35 hours of periodic training every five years.
