Overview


The Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulations 1992 sets out requirements for employers to provide personal protective equipment (PPE) for workers. In the legislation, PPE includes all equipment (including clothing that affords protection against the weather) to reduce and prevent risks to employees’ health or safety. It also includes any additions or accessories to the PPE articles (e.g. Respiratory Protection Equipment (RPE) hoses and fittings etc.) that are designed to protect workers.
