The purpose of these Regulations is implementing EU legislation in the UK for the enforcement and regulation of appliances burning gaseous fuels. They enable enforcement authorities in the UK to take action against economic operator (manufacturers, importers and distributors) if they do not comply with the obligations in the EU Gas Appliances Regulation, which is aimed at ensuring that gas appliances and fittings entering the Union market fulfil a high level of protection for the health and safety of users.
