The Environmental Protection (Single-use Plastic Products) (Wales) Act 2023 aims to address the environmental impact of disposable single-use plastic products in Wales. It was developed following consultations and engagement with stakeholders on proposals to ban commonly littered single-use plastic products and oxo-degradable plastic products. The Act prohibits the supply or offer of ten specific single-use plastic products and products made of oxo-degradable plastic to consumers in Wales. It establishes an enforcement regime led by local authorities.
