The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 contains provisions enforcing the safety and welfare of persons at work in different employment situations. The Act encourages the improvement of health and safety standards in the workplace, as well as provides regulation of said workplace standards through the enforcement by bodies such as the Health and Safety Authority. Under the Act, every employer shall ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the safety, health and welfare at work of his or her employees.
