Environment (Wales) Act 2016

Made: 21-03-2016 | Laid: 21-03-2016 | Forced: 21-03-2016

Overview

The Environment (Wales) Act 2016 puts in place the necessary legislation and provisions needed to plan and manage Wales’ natural resources in a more proactive, sustainable and uniform way. The Act received Royal Assent in 2016 and delivers against the Welsh Government’s Programme for Government commitment to introduce new legislation for the environment. As a result, this positions Wales as a low carbon, green economy, ready to adapt to the impacts of climate change.
