The Timber and Timber Products (Placing on the Market) Regulations 2013

Made: 06-02-2013 | Laid: 08-02-2013 | Forced: 03-03-2013

Overview

The Timber and Timber Products (Placing on the Market) Regulations 2013 enforce the EU Timber Regulations, which mandate the prevention of illegally harvested timber and timber products from entering the EU market. The regulations also require those who are the initial distributors of timber and its products in the EU market to use a risk-based approach to ensure that they do not inadvertently place illegally harvested timber or its products onto the EU market. Additionally, traders who handle timber and its products after they have been placed on the EU market are required to maintain specific information to facilitate the tracing of such products.
