This Order is a key measure in terms of increasing the amount of renewable electricity generating capacity in Scotland. The prime objective of the Renewables Obligation (Scotland) Order 2009 (2009 ROS) is to introduce the principle of “banding” – that is, to differentiate the levels of support that different renewable energy technologies might receive for their output.
