The Nitrate Pollution Prevention (Wales) Regulations 2013 (REVOKED)

Made: 01-10-2013 | Laid: 02-10-2013 | Forced: 25-10-2013

Overview

The 2013 Regulations were revoked and replaced as part of Wales' revised agricultural pollution control framework, most notably through the Water Resources (Control of Agricultural Pollution) (Wales) Regulations 2021, which introduced a Wales-wide regulatory regime for agricultural pollution controls.

These Regulations revoked and replaced the Nitrate Pollution Prevention (Wales) Regulations 2008 which controlled the application of nitrogen fertiliser in nitrate sensitive areas. In relation to Wales, these Regulations implemented Council Directive 91/676/EEC concerning the protection of waters against pollution by nitrates from agricultural sources.
