Made: 13-01-2024 | Laid: 13-01-2024 | Forced: 13-01-2024

Overview

The Higher-Risk Buildings (Keeping and Provision of Information etc.) (England) Regulations 2024 specifies the necessary evidence and documentation required by 'accountable persons' (APs) to share as 'golden thread information' with other management within said higher-risk building. The regulation also outlines duties the necessary for the principal accountable person. For reference; a Higher-Risk Building is considered a building with at least 7 storeys and 2 residential units.

These Regulations Amend the Higher-Risk Building (Key Information etc.) Regulation 2023 and Higher Risk Buildings (Descriptions and Supplementary Provisions) Regulations 2023. They outline which part of a building certain individuals are responsible for if there are various individuals accountable for safety in the same premises (excluding military premises). This is done to ensure information is retained and accessible to others in compliance with safety regulations.
