Regulation (EU) 2018/841 on the inclusion of greenhouse gas emissions and removals from land use, land use change and forestry in the 2030 climate and energy framework

Made: 30-05-2018 | Laid: 30-05-2018 | Forced: 09-07-2018

Overview

Regulation (EU) 2018/841 addresses aspects related to the use, recycling, and recovery of fluorinated greenhouse gases (F-gases). These gases, including hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), perfluorocarbons (PFCs), and sulfur hexafluoride (SF6), are potent contributors to global warming and ozone depletion.

The aim of the regulation is to ensure that the land use, land use change, and forestry (LULUCF) sectors contributes to achieving the European Union's (EU) greenhouse gas emission reduction targets for the period 2021-2030.
