Notice to Airman (NOTAMs) is a process in which airman and women can obtain up to date safety information on potential obstructions to flight paths prior to flight. Information on NOTAMs can be obtained from a free website which is managed by volunteers.
This is applicable to you whether you fly manned or unmanned aircraft.
Notice to Airman (NOTAMs) is a reporting process in which aviators can be informed of potential hazards to airspace. This can include aircraft to aircraft collisions and obstructions created from the ground which could impede airspace. Prior to flight including military and civil aircraft, it is standard practice to review the flight path to determine if there are any reports of flight activity and obstructions. Once reviewed this may impact on the decision to fly or to change flight paths to avoid hazardous areas.
