The European Communities (Inspection and Assessment of Certain Air-Conditioning Systems) Regulations 2006 require owners or operators of air-conditioning systems to have their systems inspected regularly to ensure energy efficiency and environmental sustainability. The goal is to minimise the impact of air-conditioning systems on the environment and reduce energy consumption.
Please note that since this was initially put in place, the underlying EU requirements have changed to the Directive 2010/31/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 19 May 2010 on the energy performance of buildings (recast).
