Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005

Made: 07-04-2005 | Laid: 07-04-2005 | Forced: 07-04-2005

Overview

There are 10 sections to this legislation which covers issues of environmental quality and anti-social behaviour.

The Act provides local authorities with more effective powers to tackle issues related to poor environmental quality and anti-social behaviour. In particular the Act includes sections on:

  • Nuisance and abandoned vehicles
  • Parking
  • Litter and Fly-tipping
  • Graffiti
  • Waste
  • Noise
  • Stray Dogs and Dog Fouling

Many of the new provisions relate to powers not duties, so organisations should be aware of these issues so they stay on the right side of any local laws that a Local Council puts in place.
